All of our October news

What a wonderful Dance with Parkinson’s class we had today piloting a hybrid Zoom session. With some of our members unable to get to KH , we organised a trial so people can join those in the studio from their home.

Old friends were able to chat with each other at the beginning and end of class and interact during the session.

It was as truly heartwarming to see everyone arriving and heading for the TV screen to greet each other. We sincerely hope this pilot is a success, so we can offer the chance to everyone who wishes to join us from their own home.

Do get in touch if you would like the zoom link and join us for fun and laughter while dancing for physical, social, emotional wellbeing and pure enjoyment.

Message from Alumni Saskia ( Miss Ali’s daughter and Miss Angela’s niece)
This summer, I spent a few months at Tring Park School on an exciting new CBBC series ‘Stage Stars’ following the journeys of students throughout their school year.
It was an amazing place to be — our production office was never quiet, filled with the sounds of tap classes, music rehearsals, and laughter echoing through the corridors. It brought back so many memories of my own KH years!
One of the highlights was discovering that I already knew Tring Park’s Head of English and Head of Sixth Form from Kirkham Henry many years ago. On our final day of filming, they even surprised me with a newspaper cut out featuring me in RYT’s Summer Holiday (2005!) Auntie Ang Directed — what a small world.
You can catch Stage Stars on CBBC and BBC iPlayer from Monday
Tring Park used to be known as Arts ED. Tring it’s where many KH pupils attended including Miss Renate and where Mrs Marshall also used to play for classes. The trailer looks so inviting, try not to miss the series.

Hello everyone!
Charlie here giving you a little update on my current adventures 💗
In true Charlie style I made an extremely last minute spontaneous decision to take on a dance job performing on a dinner show in Egypt. It all started with a phone call from a girl who I had done a few performing jobs with in London saying that one of the dancers is leaving and would I be able to fly out within a week. I frantically left all of my jobs in London, found someone to take my room and off I went! With mum ordering me fishnets for next day delivery as I packed up my room, I knew it was crazy but the timing just felt right.
I am now a couple of months into the contract and it has been incredible. I learnt 7 new dances in the space of 3 days and have gained so many new skills, especially when it comes to partner work and lifts. We are based in New Cairo and it’s called The Grand Theatre, currently the best dinner show in the whole of Egypt!
We are now leading up to opening season 3 which means a whole new show, new dances, new branding, the works! My favourite number is Survivor which is a strong double partner work number that I am performing with the 3 Colombians (aka the powerhouses), which in a way reminds me of my old modern dance number at festivals 😂
It has really opened my eyes to a new part of the industry that I didn’t know existed and I am so excited for what future lies ahead and the doors that have been opened.
Thank you Kirkham Henry for giving me the foundations that have made me the dancer that I am today.
It all sound so exciting Charlie ,thank you for this update as we know how our Alumni encourage our present pupils to work hard for their future.

We thought you’d all love to hear what Lilian and Evelyn were up to last week . Here’s Lilian writing about their wonderful experience.
This past week Evelyn and I have been to Dreghorn Barracks in Edinburgh with British Army Music to experience what it is like to play in the Royal Regiment of Scotland's marching band. We have both learnt a lot about the army and how to march with an instrument and it was an amazing experience. Evelyn had a very hard job as she plays in the trombone section who march at the front of the band and had to be in charge of the people behind her. I was a solo cornet and had very hard music to play whilst marching. We are very grateful for this opportunity and I hope it helps me in fulfilling my dream of being an actor-musician. Lilian x

Miss Angela Here- I’m very happy ( and a little proud to be able to fit the training in, on top of everything else) to share that I’ve recently become a qualified and accredited Life Coach for Adolescents with 100% correct answers.
For over 50 years, I’ve had the privilege of talking with — and more importantly, listening to — young people as they navigate the ups and downs of growing up. Alongside my Youth Mental Health qualification, this new coaching accreditation allows me to continue supporting teenagers in an even more focused and structured way.
Adolescence can be a confusing and challenging time and many youngsters change their communication patterns with their loving parents , which leads to many parents over the years asking if I’d listen to their offspring. I thank KH families with trusting me to support the young people I believe that with the right nonjudgmental understanding, and encouragement, every young person can find their own sense of direction and confidence, believe in themselves and thrive in whatever their chosen career path.
Miss Angela x
